This article provides information about the communication permissions of all individuals and organizations (such as members and donors) registered in your organization’s Fonzip account.

All persons registered in Fonzip can decide through which channels the organization using Fonzip may or may not contact them. In short, they can manage their own communication preferences.

Collecting Permissions (Screens Without Login)

On all donation pages, open membership fee payment pages, registration forms that do not require member login, and event pages, individuals or organizations are asked about their communication preferences. These communication permissions appear on all such pages as follows:

For YOUR NGO NAME:

☐ I give permission to be contacted by phone (if phone number is requested)

☐ I give permission to be contacted by SMS (if phone number is requested)

☐ I give permission to be contacted by email

Collecting Permissions (Screens With Login)

Individuals can manage their communication permissions directly from their profiles.

On logged-in screens, these permissions are not asked again. The individual or organization must update them from their profile if needed.

Revoking & Updating Permissions

Communication permissions can be managed in two ways:

  1. By clicking the link at the bottom of emails received: Click here to change your communication permissions.

  2. By logging into the individual/organization profile.

    • From there, they can access a dialog page to manage their settings by clicking the link at the bottom of an email they have received.

Checking Communication Permissions

Communication permissions can be queried from the filters available in the person/organization list.

Updating Communication Permissions by the System Administrator

System administrators can update existing permissions either individually from the profile details of each person or in bulk using the Bulk Data Update function under the Actions menu in the Person/Organization List.

The responsibility for these updates lies entirely with the person performing them.

Situations and Messages That Do Not Require Permission

  • Messages confirming whether or not a payment (donation, membership fee, etc.) has been made (called thank-you letters in Fonzip)

  • Delivery of digital certificates or event tickets following the completion of a transaction

  • Reminders of unpaid debts/membership fees

  • Notifications related to system use or identity verification, such as login, password reminders, or OTPs

  • Messages marked with: ☐ This message does not require communication permission.

In general: for announcements regarding membership procedures, notifications related to donation/membership fee transactions, debt reminders, information updates, deliveries, or similar communications that are required to provide information or fulfill obligations, prior consent is not required.
