Automatic Data Flows

All data from the donation, membership fee, event, e-card, and form pages you create in Fonzip are automatically transferred to the people section by creating a profile, provided there is no approval mechanism in place.

  • If a record matches an existing one according to duplicate control rules, the data is written onto the existing profile.

  • If a record could be a duplicate but contains different information, a new profile is created and marked as a potential duplicate of the other one.

  • If there is no record that could be a duplicate, a new record is created.

  • If the potentially duplicate record is archived, it will be automatically restored from the archive.

Public Membership Dues Payment Page

If a payment received through your public membership dues payment page does not match any record in your people list, it will still be recorded as a membership fee payment.

However, no further processing will take place until you manually match it to an existing profile or choose to create a new one.

Fundraising Campaigns

As a fundraising-focused platform, Fonzip’s Fundraising Campaigns feature naturally requires campaign owners to register in your system before they can start a campaign.

These people may appear in your people list even if they registered but did not start a campaign. If they do start a campaign, it will appear pending your approval before becoming active.

If you wish to prevent such records from being added automatically, you can disable this feature by navigating to:

Donations > Fundraising Campaigns > Settings in the left-hand menu.

If you do not want any external person records to be created in your CRM, go to:

People > User Platform > Settings, and disable the Registration Page option.

Forms

When forms that do not require admin approval are submitted, the person is automatically added to the system, and the form’s information fields are reflected in their profile.

Custom questions are not reflected in the profile.

For forms requiring admin approval:

  • If the person already exists in the system, the form is linked to that profile, but the data is not overwritten.

  • If the person does not exist, the record remains inactive until approval is granted.

Manual Data Flows

There are three ways to manually add data in Fonzip:

  1. Add individual data as an admin (e.g., adding a person, donation, or e-card transaction).

  2. Add multiple records as an admin (e.g., importing people, donations, or membership fee data from Excel).

  3. Use the API to integrate your own software with Fonzip and manually add data.

For all data added manually — except direct “add person” entries (such as donations, ticket sales, etc.) — related profiles are automatically created in the people section.
